This year, I’ve been busy conjuring up a collection that’s a little bit magical, a touch mysterious, and, of course, bursting with Halloween spirit. Fun Fact #1: The Origins of Halloween
Did you know that Halloween has its roots in the ancient Celtic festival of Samhain? The Celts believed that on the night of 31st October, the boundary between the living and the dead blurred, and spirits could roam the earth. They would light bonfires and wear costumes to ward off any ghostly visitors—pretty much like we do today, only now we’ve swapped bonfires for pumpkin spice candles!
Fun Fact #2: The Tale of Jack O’ Lantern
Speaking of pumpkins, ever wondered why we carve them? The tradition of the Jack O’ Lantern comes from an old Irish legend about a man named Stingy Jack. He was so tricky that when he finally passed, neither heaven nor hell would take him, so he was left to wander the earth with only a burning coal inside a carved-out turnip to light his way. When Irish immigrants brought the story to America, they discovered pumpkins made for even better lanterns. And voilà, the Jack O’ Lantern was born!
